Who will Go: Balch or Crosswhite?

What kind of utility company allows a vendor to violate a structured code of conduct and abuse their inter-connected relationships by allegedly engaging in a “staged arrest?”

With Wall Street analysts and institutional investors being briefed this week, the aftermath of the link of Alabama Power to the Newsome Conspiracy Case and a coming civil RICO lawsuit, the question everyone is asking is who will go: Balch & Bingham or Mark Crosswhite?

Crosswhite, who serves as CEO of Alabama Power and one of the most powerful business players in Alabama, (and who has shown brilliant leadership in the past) may have put too much trust in his former colleagues at Balch.

A long-time partner at Balch, Crosswhite moved through the revolving door to Alabama Power and may have hoped to someday succeed Tom Fanning, CEO of Alabama Power’s parent, Southern Company.

But all of that appears to be off the table.

What kind of utility company allows a vendor to violate a structured code of conduct and abuse their inter-connected relationships by allegedly engaging in a “staged arrest?”

Crosswhite should be furious at Schuyler Allen Baker, Jr. a/k/a Notorious SAB,  the General Counsel of Balch & Bingham, (pictured center) who appears to have let the Newsome Conspiracy Case become the embarrassment it has become because of a bruised ego.

What kind of co-conspirators would allegedly get the son of one of their top clients to abuse someone under the color of authority and pull over a competitor for the sake of allegedly defaming him?

Worse, the son is a cop who has posted vulgarities via social media including one that implies Muslims are goat fornicators (above left.)

Who wants to even be associated with this riff-raff?

Crosswhite should fire the firm immediately or Crosswhite’s future may not progress.

If he doesn’t believe so, just ask Jeffrey H. Wood, whose nomination we blocked.

Like a third-string quarterback claiming he was the longest serving bench warmer in school history, Wood likes to now foolishly boast that he was the longest-serving “Acting” Assistant Attorney General.

What will Mark say or do?
