Injustice Makes Even Stranger Bedfellows
The talk of Mountain Brook–the elite enclave in Birmingham– and on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC is not so much about Dave Roberson’s $50 Million lawsuit against Drummond and Balch & Bingham but who is representing Roberson.
Burt Newsome.
Yes, Burt Newsome the sole-practitioner attorney who allegedly was targeted, wrongly arrested and defamed by Balch & Bingham.
Schuyler Allen Baker, Jr., one of Balch & Bingham dinosaur partners, who appears to have let the Newsome Conspiracy Case turn into a legal quagmire and shameful embarrassment, has now handed his self-created, artificial, superficial “nemesis” the case of a lifetime that could bring the Balch & Bingham partnership to its knees.
Newsome comes from blue-collar roots, working multiple jobs (including sacking groceries) while paying his way through Troy University.
After graduating and working at a bank for several years, he saw that outside attorneys were the second highest expenditures at banks.
Newsome decided to enroll in law school, taking night law classes as he continued to work at the bank during the day. He passed the bar and worked diligently with banking clients, saving and making banks millions.
Newsome is a self-made success story and looks like the envy of Balch & Bingham. Balch & Bingham allegedly tried to defame Newsome; it backfired.
Now he will lead the charge for justice and inherent goodness.
Go, Burt, go!
Even some Brookies are chanting.
